PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Welcome to all my country fellows on the official website of All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF).

As the President of the All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) and the Asian Alysh Federation, it is both an honor and a responsibility to lead the growth and promotion of traditional wrestling styles in India and across Asia. My journey has been dedicated to strengthening the presence of combat sports such as UWW Belt Wrestling, Alysh, TKM Goresh, Pahlavani, Pankration, Amateur MMA, and Mas-Wrestling in India and internationally.

Representing India as the Head of the Delegation and President of AITWPF at prestigious global multi-sport events—including the World Combat Games, World Games, World University Games, Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, Children of Asia International Games, and World Nomad Games—has been a matter of great pride. These events have showcased the incredible talent of Indian athletes and reinforced our commitment to the development of traditional and combat sports on the world stage.

My role as a Member of the UWW World Belt Wrestling Committee and a Presidium Member of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation (IMWF) further enables me to advocate for these sports, ensuring their recognition and expansion globally. With the collective efforts of our federations, athletes, coaches, and stakeholders, we continue to create new opportunities, develop grassroots programs, and provide Indian athletes with platforms to compete at the highest levels.

As the President of the Asian Alysh Federation, my responsibility is to promote and develop the sport of Alysh across Asia, ensuring its integration into major international competitions. The Federation plays a crucial role in organizing and regulating championships, fostering athlete development, and strengthening ties with international wrestling bodies.

A significant milestone in this journey was hosting the first-ever Traditional Multi-Sports World Championship under UWW in 2011 at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune, India. This event set a precedent for future championships and highlighted India’s capability in organizing world-class traditional wrestling tournaments.

In 2025, we are proud to host two major events: the UWW Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship from May 21 to 26 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, and the Asian Mas-Wrestling Championship in the last week of October in Goa, India. These events will bring together top athletes from across Asia, further strengthening our commitment to the sport’s growth and visibility on the international stage.

I am committed to fostering the spirit of traditional wrestling and combat sports, preserving our rich heritage, and making India a powerhouse in these disciplines. Together, let us build a strong future for our athletes and the combat sports community.
